Anna Wright Hi everybody. My name is Anna & I have been playing in agility for about 10 years. I have three border collies, Nakita, (Kita) She is or was a Tri colour, now a grand old lady of thirteen but still competes at Veteran level & is still as crazy as she ever was. Echo she is black & white & is now nine & a total nutcase. She does agility when it suits her. When she has her good head on & her brains are switched on she is amazing, but if she has left her brains in bed she can be so difficult! Zodee. She is four a lovely tri-colour with half a white face. She was a rescue from the blue cross I found her when she was eight months old. Actually she found me, when I went to see her she leapt up & kissed me, from then on she was mine. Out of the three she is the easiest to run doing exactly as your body & voice tells her to. This can mean a few mistakes, mainly from the handler. But I love them all & wouldn’t change them, even when things go wrong. I have been teaching since I was sixteen & a half, first started off as a riding Instructor. Then when I became a lot older (I would like to say wiser!!!) & got fed up with the wet & cold I went on to teaching dog agility. I think I’ve been teaching agility for about seven years now & it’s great fun. The best part is when you see new handlers coming through & then in no time at all they are out in the show rings getting some wonderful clear rounds. That makes me feel so good & proud of them. Knowing I have managed to help both handler & dog in becoming a team. When I teach agility I try & make the whole experience fun. In that way the dog enjoys the whole experience & when it does well, the handlers start to relax & enjoy agility. That is when they really become a great team. I am very proud of my club & have watched it grow from about a dozen members to a lovely long waiting list. We started off on a Monday evening & slowly grew until we needed to start on a Wednesday as well. We now hold two fun day shows, one in the spring time the second in autumn. HATS is fun! Anna & her crazy dogs.
